Event Description
The FDPA Indiana County Group is hosting a public education program on reforming Pennsylvania’s redistricting process. Fair Districts PA speaker Bill Marx will be joining a panel including Dr. Aleea Perry from the IUP Political Science Department and Dr. Hilario Molina from the IUP Sociology Department. Bill will explain PA’s current redistricting process, demonstrate how it undermines democracy, and then offer a solution to the problem. Bill will also include information about the two State Senate Hearings and the actions of the State House Government Committee. And he will discuss FDPA’s strategy going forward.
Fair Districts PA is a non-partisan coalition of citizens and organizations seeking to reform PA redistricting rules by taking the process out of the hands of party leaders and putting that process into the hands of an impartial, transparent, and accountable citizens’ commission.
