Why does it feel like nothing ever gets done in Harrisburg? Why do so many bills get introduced but so few ever become law? And why are young voters across Pennsylvania feeling disenchanted with a system that seems stuck in neutral?
Fair Districts PA Speaker Jodi Reese will be a featured guest for the second installment ofRed, Wine and Blue Pennsylvania’s Civics in the Commonwealth 102: Harrisburg is Broken. As one of FDPA’s lead researchers for the Fix Harrisburg project, Reese will provide insight into how the Pennsylvania legislature really works and why structural road blocks in Harrisburg that stall legislation cause gridlock in Harrisburg to be the norm.
The program will also feature youth engagement insights from Rachel Tait of Project 26 Pennsylvania, a scrappy and innovative operation to protect and expand democracy by empowering PA college students to take control of their futures, get organized, and vote. Tait will provide insights into what young voters are thinking, feeling, and ready to do
