Lower Northeast Philly Working Group Meeting and Canvassing

Event Description

Join FDPA’s lower northeast working group on Saturday 2/17. We will canvass constituents of the 2nd district to harness support for Senate Bill 22 - redistricting reform legislation to end gerrymandering.

Senator Tartaglione’s office has informed our members she will not support SB22. The bill creates an independent citizens commission to draw voting districts. Does Senator Tartaglione want to keep our broken system where politicians pick their voters and not the other way around? Philadelphians have 32 legislators representing them in Harrisburg. Only 4 do not support a legislative solution to end gerrymandering, and Senator Tartaglione is one of them.

We will meet at a volunteer’s house for approximately 30 minutes to discuss the latest news, distribute materials and divide into teams. Then we will head out to collect letters demanding Senator Tartaglione co-sponsor Senate Bill 22. Please RSVP to gregkamprath@gmail.com.
