Event Description

Fair Districts PA will sponsor a panel and audience participation discussion on partisan gerrymandering and current legislative actions on February 15th, 2018.

This unique event, which will be moderated by TV Journalist Andy Mehalshick of WBRE/WYOU will feature a panel made up of FDPA volunteers Denise Williams and Diana Dakey as well as current State Representatives Tarah Toohil and Gerald Mullery, who have cosponsored HB 722 which calls for an independent citizens commission to draw district lines.

The panel is also privileged to have retired Penn State University history Professor Dr. Eugene Miller, and retired Hazleton Area Government and Economics teacher Bob Stevens as members of the panel.

The public will be invited to participate and a Q&A session will highlight the event.

This event will provide insights on the challenge to our democratic system posed by gerrymandering, the history and current efforts for reform from the organization Fair Districts Pa, and the legislative actions currently before the state government in the form of State House Bill 722, and State Senate Bill 22.

Please plan to attend this important discussion.
