Make Your Vote Count: Understanding Gerrymandering in PA

Event Description

The Lower Macungie Library is hosting a public education program on reforming Pennsylvania’s redistricting process. Fair Districts PA speaker Mary Erdman will:

• explain PA’s current redistricting process
• demonstrate how it undermines democracy
• offer a solution to the redistricting problem
• discuss the legislation in Harrisburg
• speak about FDPA’s strategy
• describe the new Congressional District 7 Map in time for the election
• inform voters about the “Know Before You Vote” site on the Fair Districts PA website.

Fair Districts PA is a non-partisan coalition of citizens and organizations seeking to reform PA redistricting rules by taking the process out of the hands of party leaders and putting that process into the hands of an impartial, transparent, and accountable citizens’ commission.
